Information about Albendazole (Generic Albenza) :
Albendazole is an anti-worm (antihelmintic) medicine used to treat infections caused by pork tapeworm and dog tapeworm. It prevents worms growing or multiplying in human body.
It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Be aware that Albendazole may interact with some medicines. Consult with your health care provider in case you are taking any other drugs, especially any of the following: aminophyline; caffeine; carbamazepine; cimetidine; clozapine; dexamethasone; grapefruit juice; mexiletine; olanzapine; phenobarbital; phenytoin; ropinirole; tacrine; theophyline; warfarin.
PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING:
Albendazole should not be taken in case you are pregnant. It is recommended to avoid pregnancy for at least 1 month following course of treatment with Albendazole. Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding a baby while using Albendazole.

How to use Albendazole:
Take this medicine as recommended by your physician. Albendazole should be taken with food to lessen stomach upset. Take each dose with a full glass of water.
Do not stop taking Albendazole even if you feel well. Your symptoms may start to improve before the infection is completely treated. It may take from 30 days to 3 months to eliminate worms.
You should know that fasting, laxatives, or purging will not help to cure this infection.
Keep Albendazole at indoor temperature away from moisture and heat.

Seek emergency medical attention in case overdose is suspected.
Possible side effects of Albendazole:
You should stop taking Albendazole and seek emergency in case you have an allergic reaction (swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; shortness of breath; closing of your throat; or hives).
